• Candidates register and fill/reorder institute-branch preferences on the CSAB portal.
• The mock seat allotment is generated based on current preferences, JEE Main 2026 rank, category, and available seats – this shows candidates their probable allotment.
• Candidates can review the mock result and revise their preference order during the editing window.
• Once satisfied, candidates must lock their final choices by August 5, 2026 (2 PM); choice locking requires OTP verification sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
• After locking, no further edits are permitted for Round 1.
• CSAB Special Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on August 6, 2026, based on the final locked preferences, merit rank, category, and seat availability.
• CSAB special rounds process vacant Home State quota seats first; unfilled Home State quota seats convert to Other State quota seats as per standard CSAB rules.
• Candidates who already hold a JoSAA seat and opt into CSAB will retain that JoSAA seat unless a higher-preference option is allotted in CSAB Special Round 1.

How to Check CSAB 2026 Mock Seat Allotment Result

2. Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number and password.
3. Log in to access the candidate dashboard.
4. Check the mock seat allotment status, including the probable allotted institute and programme.
5. Download or save the mock allotment details for future reference.
6. If not satisfied with the result, go to the “Choice Filling & Display” section and use the “Move Up,” “Move Down,” or “Swap” options to reorder preferences.
7. Save every change made before logging out.
8. Lock the final preference list before August 5, 2026 (2 PM), using OTP verification.

CSAB 2026 Mock Seat Allotment: Important Instructions

• Checking the mock allotment is entirely online; CSAB will not send email or SMS reminders about the result release.
• If dissatisfied with the mock result, reorder preferences by comparing them against last year’s college-wise closing ranks relative to your CRL/category rank.
• Build a combined preference list covering highly preferred, moderate, and safe institute options.
• If already allotted a desired seat, keep the preference sequence unchanged.
• Do not remove ambitious/dream college choices just because they weren’t allotted in the mock round – the final round may still offer them depending on vacancy movement.
• Placing a college higher in the list does not reduce chances of getting a lower-preference seat if higher options remain unavailable.
• Avoid listing any institute/branch you are unwilling to join, since accepting an allotted seat is governed by CSAB rules and may involve forfeiting the seat acceptance fee if declined improperly.
• Do not log in from multiple devices/tabs simultaneously, as this may cause session timeouts and unsaved changes.
• Female candidates should review both Gender-Neutral and Female-Only (supernumerary) seat options, which remain active in CSAB Special Rounds.
• Candidates opting for GFTIs should check institute-specific tuition and hostel fee details on csab.nic.in before final locking.
• Choice locking requires OTP verification; ensure your registered mobile number is active.
• Once locked, choices cannot be edited for Round 1 under any circumstances.
• CSAB counselling is conducted exclusively through csab.nic.in – never share login credentials or OTPs on third-party sites or forums.
