The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notice for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Examination, 2026. SSC will conduct an Open Competitive Examination to fill posts of Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Male/Female), and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF (Male). Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan (subject to a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India for Nepal/Bhutan subjects).

SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

SI in Delhi Police / SI (GD) in CAPFsBachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent. Candidates awaiting final result may also apply but must possess the qualification by the closing date.
SI (Fire) in CISFBachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised university or equivalent; OR Matriculation plus a 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Automobile/Chemical/Mining/Aeronautical/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent. A higher qualification (B.Tech/M.Tech) in relevant fields is treated as value addition, subject to the basic diploma being held.

For the post of SI in Delhi Police, male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT). Male candidates without a valid LMV licence are eligible only for SI posts in CAPFs, not Delhi Police.

SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

  • Fee payable: ₹100 (Rupees One Hundred only).
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen (eligible for reservation) are exempted from fee payment.
  • Fee can be paid only through online modes: BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit card.
  • Fee payment closes 01.10.2026 (23:00 hrs); no other mode of payment is permitted.
  • Fee once paid is non-refundable and non-adjustable against any other examination.

Questions in both papers are Objective Multiple Choice Type, set in Hindi and English (Parts I–III). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer in Paper-I, 0.50 marks per wrong answer in Paper-II. Difficulty level of Paper-II is higher than Paper-I. NCC Certificate holders get bonus marks: 5% (NCC ‘C’), 3% (NCC ‘B’), 2% (NCC ‘A’) of maximum marks in each paper, as on the closing date of application.

Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must clear the written tests, physical standards and medical standards prescribed for direct recruits.

Medical Examination

All candidates who qualify Paper-II undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) by CAPF Medical Officers. A Review Medical Examination (RME) is conducted for candidates found unfit in DME, preferably the next day; the decision of the Review Medical Board is final. DME/RME is mandatory but qualifying in nature.

Document Verification

Document Verification is conducted by the CAPFs before final result declaration, preferably alongside the DME/RME stage. Candidates must bring two passport-size colour photographs, one original valid Photo ID proof, and originals plus copies of: Matriculation/Secondary Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificate, equivalence order/letter (if applicable), Caste/Category Certificate (if reserved category), Driving Licence (for Delhi Police male candidates), and Ex-Servicemen undertaking/certificates (if applicable).

How to Apply for SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026

  1. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website, https://ssc.gov.in. OTR generated on the old website (ssc.nic.in) will not work on the new website.
  2. Log in using your Registration Number and Password, then click ‘Apply’ against the SSC SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination, 2026.
  3. Fill in the Online Application Form either on the SSC website or via the ‘mySSC’ mobile application (available on Google Play Store).
  4. Candidates are advised to opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication while completing OTR, which exempts them from photo/signature rejection on format grounds and from producing colour photographs/photo-ID at the exam venue.
  5. Capture a live photograph as prompted by the application (no pre-existing photo upload) with good light, plain background, no cap/mask/glasses.
  6. Upload scanned signature in JPEG format (10–20 KB, approx. 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height).
  7. Use the Preview/Print option to check all details before final submission.
  8. Pay the application fee of ₹100 online (if not exempted) through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or RuPay Debit card.
  9. Submit the application before 30.09.2026 (23:00 hrs) and complete fee payment before 01.10.2026 (23:00 hrs).

SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan.
  • The Commission neither collects vacancies nor allocates candidates state-wise, region-wise, zone-wise or city-wise for this examination.
  • Candidates should submit applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute website load issues; SSC is not responsible for failure to submit due to such reasons.
  • Applications with incomplete fee payment status will be summarily rejected.
  • After the correction window closes, no further change/correction/modification will be allowed under any circumstances.
  • Candidates have the option to choose three examination centres (in order of priority) within the same SSC region; no request for centre change will be entertained later.
  • Marks in multi-shift Computer Based Examinations will be normalized as per the Commission’s published procedure.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of scores.
  • Success in the examination confers no right to appointment unless the Commission is satisfied, after such enquiry as considered necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
  • Candidates should retain their application forms and exam-related documents for at least 3 years for future reference.
  • Information furnished in the application will be verified against original documents during Document Verification; false information will lead to summary rejection of candidature.
  • Various penalties (ranging from 1 to 7 years’ debarment) apply for unfair means, impersonation, misbehaviour, or possession of prohibited devices during the examination – full details are in the official notice.
