The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) 2026 exam date. The CTET 22nd Edition exam, earlier scheduled for 6th September 2026, will now be held on 9th October 2026 (Tentative). The change follows a Supreme Court direction asking CBSE to give candidates who missed the original application deadline another opportunity to apply.

CTET Revised Exam Date 2026

The CTET 2026 exam for both Paper I and Paper II is now expected to be conducted on 09/10/2026. This is the revised date for the 22nd edition of CTET, which was originally scheduled for 06/09/2026. As per various news reports, CBSE has reportedly finalised arrangements for the exam on this date, following the Supreme Court’s direction to allow eligible candidates who missed the original deadline to apply during a reopened window. Candidates who applied during either the original or the reopened application window should note this date for their preparation. This date is currently unofficial and should be treated as tentative until CBSE publishes a formal notice.

CTET Exam Schedule and Shift Timings 2026

The CTET 2026 exam is expected to be held in two shifts on the same day Paper II in the morning and Paper I in the afternoon. Candidates should check the reporting time and exam timing carefully to avoid last-minute confusion.

CTET Admit Card 2026

CTET Admit Card 2026 is tentatively expected to be released by 5:00 PM on 04/10/2026. An official release date has not been confirmed by CBSE yet, so candidates should treat this as provisional until the board issues a notice on ctet.nic.in.

CTET Exam Day Guidelines 2026

• Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time given on your admit card.
• Carry a printed copy of your CTET admit card.
• Bring a valid original photo ID proof.
• Check your exam centre address in advance and plan your travel accordingly.
• Make sure you report for your correctly allotted shift Paper II in the morning, Paper I in the afternoon.
• Carry any additional documents specified in the official instructions.
• Follow the dress code and other instructions issued by CBSE.
• Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or other prohibited items.
• Cooperate with staff during security checks.
• Carry only the stationery items allowed under the official guidelines.
• Do not bring books, notes, or loose papers into the exam hall.
• Sit only at your assigned seat and follow invigilator instructions throughout.
• Read all questions and marking instructions carefully before attempting the paper.
• Do not leave the exam hall before the permitted time.
