Government Medical College, Jalgaon has announced a total of 21 vacancies in different medical subjects. The recruitment includes 11 Professor posts and 10 Associate Professor posts.

Who Can Apply for GMC Jalgaon Recruitment 2026?

Candidates must be Indian citizens and residents of Maharashtra. Applicants must possess the relevant medical qualification prescribed for their subject under the National Medical Commission requirements.

Retired teachers and eligible candidates from private or other sectors may also apply, subject to the prescribed age, qualification and experience requirements.

GMC Jalgaon Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the appropriate MD, MS, DNB or another recognised medical qualification in the relevant subject. The exact qualification differs according to the department.

Experience Required

Experience for Professor Posts

• At least three years of experience as an Associate Professor in the relevant subject at a permitted, approved or recognised medical college or institution.
• Required research publications under the applicable NMC rules.
• Completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology from an NMC-designated institution.
• Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from an NMC-designated institution.

Experience for Associate Professor Posts

• At least four years of experience as an Assistant Professor in the relevant subject at a permitted, approved or recognised medical college or institution.
• Required research publications as prescribed in the notification.
• Completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology.
• Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.

GMC Jalgaon Age Limit

The candidate’s age at the time of appointment must not exceed 69 years.

GMC Jalgaon Professor Salary 2026

Retired government teachers appointed on contract will receive remuneration according to the applicable Maharashtra Government rules.

GMC Jalgaon Selection Process 2026

Selection will be conducted through merit assessment followed by an interview. The assessment carries a total of 100 marks.

The provisional merit list for calling candidates to the interview will be prepared using the marks obtained for qualification, additional qualification, teaching experience and research publications.

Candidates must secure at least 41% marks out of 100 to be considered for contractual appointment. The interview date and appointment updates will be

4. Enter the relevant teaching experience and research publication details.
5. Attach a recent passport-size photograph.
6. Attach self-attested copies of all applicable certificates.
7. Submit the application personally or send it through registered post.
8. Ensure the application reaches the college on or before 25 September 2026.

Important Instructions

• Appointment will be contractual for 364 days or until a regular candidate becomes available, whichever occurs earlier.
• The appointment can be terminated for unsatisfactory performance, misconduct or administrative reasons.
• Contract employees cannot claim regular appointment or permanent absorption.
• Only casual leave will be admissible during the contractual period.
• Candidates must submit a valid medical fitness certificate before appointment.
• Applicants currently working in government, semi-government or autonomous medical colleges must submit an NOC.
• Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense.
• The college reserves the right to change the number of vacancies or cancel the recruitment.
