IIT Kharagpur, the organising institute for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027, has extended the IIT JAM 2027 registration deadline from October 12, 2026, to October 19, 2026. Candidates who have not yet completed their application can now register through the official JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). The IIT JAM 2027 exam is scheduled for February 14, 2027, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, and the result is expected on March 18, 2027.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027

1. Register on JOAPS: Visit jam.iitkgp.ac.in and go to the JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) link. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number, and set an enrolment password.
2. Get your Enrolment ID: After registration, an Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to the registered email and mobile number. Use this ID to log in for all future steps.
3. Fill in application details: Log in and enter personal details, academic qualifications, test paper choice (one or two subjects), and preferred exam cities.
4. Upload documents: Upload your photograph, signature, and relevant certificates as per the specified format and size.
5. Pay the application fee: Pay online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
6. Preview and submit: Carefully review all entered details before final submission, since corrections later may be limited to the correction window.
7. Download confirmation page: Save and print the final application confirmation page for your records.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Double-check all entries (name, category, subject choice, exam city) before final submission, as changes after submission are only possible during the official correction window, if opened.
• Uploaded documents must strictly follow the prescribed size and format; incorrectly formatted files can lead to rejection.
• Keep checking the registered email and JOAPS dashboard regularly – if an application is flagged as defective during scrutiny, candidates may be contacted for rectification.
• Since JAM is conducted by a different IIT each year, always use the current year’s official website rather than a bookmarked link from a previous cycle.
• Candidates appearing for two subjects must ensure the two chosen papers fall in different sessions (forenoon and afternoon) on February 14, 2027.
