Madras High Court DEO Selection Process 2026

Candidates applying for the DEO post are taken through three stages before final selection:

1. Written Test – An objective-type test covering computer knowledge, carrying 25 marks. Candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks to move ahead.
2. Skill Test – A practical, hands-on test of computer skills such as scanning, document conversion and network configuration, also carrying 25 marks.
3. Viva Voce – Candidates who qualify the Written-cum-Skill Test are called for an interview in a 1:3 merit-based ratio (candidates tied in merit are also included). The viva voce carries 50 marks and evaluates mental alertness, attitude, ethics and subject knowledge.

How to Prepare for Madras High Court DEO Exam 2026

• Go through all six written-test topics systematically instead of jumping between sections.
• Get hands-on with core software tools such as file management, LibreOffice and PDF processing, since these map directly to the skill test.
