National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has released the recruitment notification for 1 vacancy for the post of Platform Engineering Head / Architect on a contract basis under its 2026 recruitment drive. Eligible candidates possessing a full-time regular B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline along with required certifications can apply online up to 19 October 2026. NeGD Qualification

Experience

12+ years in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevSecOps, with minimum 4 years in a Lead Architect or Head of Platform role owning a production platform end-to-end. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) — Backstage or equivalent — covering plugin architecture, software catalogue, scaffolder templates, and SSO integration. Demonstrated experience architecting and operating cloud-native platforms at scale, serving 500+ developers across multiple business units or tenants. Demonstrated experience with source-code and DevSecOps platforms (GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket) as the CI/CD backbone, and with an OSS or licensed project management tool (OpenProject, Jira, Azure DevOps Boards). Prior experience delivering platform engineering initiatives for government, PSU, BFSI, or regulated enterprise programmes preferred. Prior experience owning migration of a large SDLC / ALM estate — repositories, work packages, users, pipelines, audit logs — to a new platform desirable.

NeGD Age Limit

Screening of applications will be based on qualifications, age, and relevant experience. NeGD reserves the right to fix higher threshold of qualifications and experience for screening and limiting the number of candidates for interview. Only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interviews.

NeGD Important Instructions

• Candidates who are already in regular or contractual employment under Central / State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel or attach a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer concerned with the application OR produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
• NeGD reserves the right to fill all or some or none of the positions advertised without assigning any reason as it deems fit.
• The positions are purely temporary in nature for the project of NeGD/DIC and appointees shall not derive any right or claim for permanent appointment at NeGD/DIC or on any vacancies existing or advertised in future.
• NeGD reserves the right to terminate the appointments of all positions with a notice of one month or without any notice by paying one month’s salary in lieu of the notice period.
• The designation of selected candidates shall be mapped as per the existing designation policy of NeGD.
• The place of posting shall be in New Delhi but transferable to project locations of NeGD as per existing policy of NeGD/DIC.
