Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPA) has notified 1 vacancy for the Sr. Asstt. Manager post to be filled on deputation. Eligible officers employed in any Major Port can apply through the prescribed offline application process, with applications forwarded through proper channel to the office of Sr. Dy. Candidates applying for the post must hold a Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised University or Institution. The notified pay scale for the Sr. Asstt. Manager post is Rs. 50,000 to 1,60,000, and selection is based on merit with a benchmark in overall grading in ACRs or APARs.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a recognised University / Institution.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Materials Management from a recognised University / Institution.
• Five years post qualification experience in Materials Management in an Industrial / Commercial / Govt. Undertaking.

Upper Age Limit: 35 years for Direct Recruitment (Absorption / Deputation applies to officers holding analogous posts or feeder posts with regular service as specified in the recruitment rules).

Enclosures

• Copies of APARs for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25), attested by an officer not below the rank of Dy. HOD on each page.
• Self-certified photocopies of all certificates and proof of educational qualification, present and past work experience.
• No objection certificate issued by the competent authority from the respective Port (Annexure-IV).
• Undertaking of the applicant that candidature will not be withdrawn if selected.
• Vigilance and administrative clearance from the concerned Port (Annexure-V).
• Two passport size colour photographs.
• Complete service details of the applicant with posts held till date, certified by an Officer not below the rank of Dy. HOD.

Selection Process

The selection is by merit with a benchmark in overall grading in the ACRs / APARs of “Good”. Absorption / Deputation will be initially for 03 years, extendable up to 04 years, and in exceptional circumstances up to 05 years.
