Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) has announced 1 vacancy for the Research Associate post on a contract basis under its 2026 recruitment. The engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project till 31st March 2027, with a possibility of extension. Candidates must hold a Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Urban Development, Architecture, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or another relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised university, alongside working proficiency in English and Hindi and a willingness to undertake field visits across Bihar. • Basic Knowledge of SPSS/STATA, digital survey tools and experience in designing Training Needs Assessments (TNA) is desirable.
• Willingness to undertake field visits across Bihar.
• Working proficiency in English and Hindi is required.

Pay and Tenure

The remuneration for the Research Associate position is determined as per institutional norms. The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project till 31st March 2027, with the possibility of an extension based on the continuation of project funding.

CIMP Research Associate Job Description

The selected Research Associate will undertake the following key responsibilities:

• Literature review and background research.
• Design and testing of survey instruments and research tools, including development of survey modules for household, institutional and facility-level assessments.
• Primary and secondary data collection, management and analysis.
• Preparation of concept notes, technical reports, policy briefs and academic publications.
• Facilitation of Training Programmes and Support in Training Module Development.
• Coordination of field studies, stakeholder consultations, workshops and capacity-building programmes.
• Regular coordination with WaterAid India on survey module design, Training Needs Assessment (TNA), and other project deliverables and timelines.
• Liaison with government departments, development partners and community stakeholders.
• Project documentation, monitoring and dissemination of research outputs.
• Any other research and programme-related assignments as assigned by the Centre.
