National Test House (NTH) has announced 2 vacancies for the Scientist-B (Chemical) post on a deputation basis, with the period of deputation ordinarily not exceeding three years. Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Microbiology or B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Technology/Chemical Engineering with required experience. The position is offered at Level-10 (Rs. 56,100-Rs. 1,77,500). Who Can Apply

Officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union Territories administrations or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or Recognized Research Institutions or semi Government or Autonomous bodies or Statutory Organizations must meet the following criteria:

Eligibility Condition (1): Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or with two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in level 8 (Rupees 47,600-1,51,100) in the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.

Educational Qualifications and Experience (Essential):

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Microbiology from a recognized University or Institute; AND One year’s practical experience in chemical analysis of materials such as building materials, metals, ores and minerals, oil and fuels, food, water, paints etc. in a recognized laboratory or institute using instrumental methods of testing.
• OR: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Technology/Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute; AND Two years’ practical experience in chemical analysis of materials such as building materials, metals, ores and minerals, oil and fuels, food, water, paints etc. in recognized laboratory or institute using instrumental methods of testing.

Desirable Qualification: Experience of Research and Development work in the areas covered in educational qualification.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on the closing date of the receipt of the applications.

Pay and Tenure

The selected candidates will be appointed in Level-10 of the pay matrix (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/-). The period of deputation (including short term contract) including period of deputation immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

NTH Scientist-B (Chemical) Job Description

The selected Scientist-B (Chemical) officers will be posted at the regional branches of National Test House to undertake chemical analysis of materials such as building materials, metals, ores and minerals, oil and fuels, food, water, paints and related substances using instrumental methods of testing, alongside research and development responsibilities.

2. Send the hard copy of the application in the enclosed Proforma (Appendix-1) along with attested copies of last 5 years’ Confidential Reports / APARs (each page attested by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary).
3. Enclose Vigilance Clearance, No Penalty Statement during last 10 years, Integrity Certificate and Cadre Clearance.
4. Send an advance copy of the application through email to [email protected] within 60 Days from the date of issue of advertisement.

Selection and Interview

The appointment is made on a deputation (including short term contract) basis from eligible officers holding qualifying service and educational prerequisites. Applications without required documents will not be entertained.

• The departmental officer in feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation.
• Deputationist shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
• Candidates, in the event of their selection, will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently on any ground.
• Incomplete applications or applications without above mentioned documents will not be entertained.
• Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained or considered.
