Thane Municipal Corporation (ठाणे महानगरपालिका), through its Sports Department, is inviting applications for 1 post of Assistant Coach (सहाय्यक प्रशिक्षक) for its men’s professional cricket team. The post is on an 11-month contract with a fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000/- per month. Eligible coaches must submit the application, with attested photocopies of their sports proficiency certificates, at the Dadoji Konddev Sports Stadium, Jawahar Baug Fire Brigade Road, Thane (W), by 29 October 2026, 5:00 pm.

About TMC Assistant Coach

Thane Municipal Corporation is the municipal body of Thane city in Maharashtra, and its Sports Department (क्रिडा विभाग) issued this notice. Under a resolution of the corporation’s General Body, Thane Municipal Corporation will form a professional cricket team to promote sport. The corporation will adopt cricket players to encourage up-and-coming sportspersons in the city, and the Assistant Coach is being hired for this men’s team.

Where and How to Send

Coaches who meet the eligibility conditions must submit their application by 29 October 2026, 5:00 pm. The notice gives the address in two places, both at the same stadium:

On the envelope, write this line in large, bold letters: “ठाणे महानगरपालिका पुरुष क्रिकेट संघाकरिता सहाय्यक प्रशिक्षक पदाकरिता नियुक्तीसाठी अर्ज केलेला आहे.” It means “Applied for appointment to the post of Assistant Coach for the Thane Municipal Corporation Men’s Cricket Team”.

Use the application form printed with the notice (the “अर्जाचा नमुना”, pages 3 to 5). The form is addressed to the Hon. Commissioner, Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane, and asks for:

1. A photograph, pasted in the box on the first page
2. Your full name (surname first), full address, contact number and email ID
3. Your date of birth and your age on the date you apply (years, months, days)
4. Your educational qualifications (exam passed, university or board, year of passing, percentage or class) and any other qualifications
5. Your current job, if you have one (organisation name and address, post, period from and to, total years)
6. Your cricket record (tournament, team, date, venue, organiser, position or rank) and the languages you know (Marathi, Hindi, English)
7. Whether any court case, criminal case, disciplinary case or similar action is pending against you, with brief details
8. A list of the attested true copies you are attaching, followed by the signed declaration with place and date

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

There is one post: Assistant Coach for the Thane Municipal Corporation men’s professional cricket team. The notice sets these eligibility conditions for coaches:

• A certificate showing that you passed the Mumbai Cricket Association (M.C.A.) coaching exam at Level 1 or Level O, or that you are a state-level player.
• Experience of playing in Group A (अ गट) matches organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (M.C.A.).
• At least 3 years of experience as coach of a team affiliated with the Mumbai Cricket Association (M.C.A.).

Pay and terms: The Assistant Coach will be paid a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 30,000/-. The appointment will be on a contract or agreement basis for 11 months, under the rules prescribed as directed by the government. The appointee will have no right to claim a permanent post.

TMC Assistant Coach Job Description

• Attend practice sessions whenever required. Attendance is mandatory.
• Work with the Head Coach and get the best practice out of the players.
• Stay with any player who is injured during practice or a match while the player is being treated.
• Make sure that every player selected for the Thane Municipal Corporation cricket team, and every cricket player holding a permanent post in the corporation, is available for daily practice.
• Get written approval in advance before attending cricket tournaments.

• The uniform (shoes, T-shirt, pants, kit bag, tracksuit) and sports equipment (bat, ball, stumps, etc.) given by Thane Municipal Corporation may be used only in tournaments where the corporation’s team is playing. If the coach uses them in any other tournament, action will be taken against the coach.
• If players complain about the Assistant Coach, the complaint will be looked into and a suitable decision taken.
• In any dispute about this recruitment, the decision of the Hon. Commissioner will be final and binding.
• In the form’s declaration, you confirm that your details are true. If any information is found false, incomplete or wrong, or you are found ineligible before or after selection, your candidature or appointment may be cancelled at any stage and legal action may be taken against you.
