About TISS

TISS is located at V.N. Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai, and is declared a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Prayas, the project behind this recruitment, is a field action project of its Centre for Criminology and Justice, initiated in 1990. It responds to the needs of disadvantaged groups who come in contact with the Criminal Justice System. It aims to facilitate the socio-legal and economic rehabilitation of persons at risk of criminalisation, exploitation in commercial sex, and those living in destitute conditions.

TISS Female Social Worker Eligibility 2026

• Gender: Female candidates only.
• Age limit: The upper age limit is 40 years.
• Qualification: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Experience: Minimum three years of experience in social work practice in the field of criminal justice.

Skills and Requirements

• Fluency in Marathi, Hindi and English.
• Good written communication skills in English, Marathi and Hindi.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with MS Office, email and Internet applications.
• Knowledge of government schemes, rules and regulations, and the ability to establish relevant institutional linkages.
