Jadavpur University, Kolkata, will hold a walk-in interview on 18 November 2026 at the Director’s Room of the School of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Jadavpur University. The interviews are at 11.30 am for Project Technical Support – I, 1.30 pm for Project Technical Support – III and 3 pm for Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical), one post each, with a fellowship of Rs. 18,000/-, Rs. 28,000/- and Rs. 67,000/- respectively, plus HRA (as admissible). Candidates bring the prescribed application form (price Rs. 50/-) from the University’s Information Section.

The notice gives a separate interview time for each post, all on the same day and at the same venue. As this is a walk-in, the notice does not set a last date for sending applications.

About the ICMR Project

Jadavpur University is a university in Kolkata. All three posts are under the project entitled ‘Optically Detected Magnetic Resonance (ODMR)-based Quantum Theranostic Platform for Rapid Detection, Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing & Therapeutic Modulation in Sepsis Management and AMR’, funded by ICMR under Collaborative Research (CCR) Scheme: Year 2025-2026, Govt. of India, vide Project Id Epms. CAR-2026-04-000012.

The work is under the supervision of Dr. Chandan Kumar Ghosh (PI), School of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Jadavpur University. The three posts were notified in three separate notices, each dated 02.11.2026 and signed by the Registrar (Actg.).

Posts and Eligibility

Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)

• Number of posts: One (01)
• Essential qualification: Ph.D in Science or Engineering
• Desired qualification: Working experience Having knowledge in nanomaterials synthesis, characterization, and biological assays.
• Age limit: Not more than 40 years as on the date of advertisement
• Fellowship: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA (as admissible)
• Interview: 18 November 2026 at 3 pm

Project Technical Support – III

• Number of posts: One (01)
• Essential qualification: M.Sc in chemistry
• Desired qualification: Working experience in chemical synthesis and characterization
• Age limit: Not more than 30 years as on the date of advertisement
• Fellowship: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA (as admissible)
• Interview: 18 November 2026 at 1.30 pm

Project Technical Support – I

• Number of posts: One (01)
• Essential qualification: B.Sc in Zoology + One year experience
• Desired qualification: Working experience in Biological Assays
• Age limit: Not more than 30 years as on the date of advertisement
• Fellowship: Rs. 18,000/- + HRA (as admissible)
• Interview: 18 November 2026 at 11.30 am

Age Limit and Relaxation

Age is counted as on the date of advertisement; the notices are dated 02.11.2026. Under “Relaxation on Qualification and Age”, the notice says SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates will get relaxation as per Govt. of India Rules. The notice does not print the number of years of relaxation.

Fellowship and Tenure

The pay is called a fellowship in the notice. Each post carries HRA (as admissible) in addition to the fixed fellowship amount. The notice states the tenure for all three posts as: “5 years on termination of the project on the basis of satisfactory performance.” The notice does not mention any other allowance, and states that no TA/DA is admissible for the interview.

The prescribed application form (Price Rs. 50/-) is to be obtained from the Information Section of the University on all working days. At the time of the interview, candidates must produce:

Each post has its own time: Project Technical Support – I at 11.30 am, Project Technical Support – III at 1.30 pm and Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical) at 3 pm. The notice does not mention a written test.
