Income Tax Delhi Sports Quota Vacancy Details 2026

The Income Tax Department, Delhi Region, has announced 119 vacancies across three posts.

The vacancies are tentative and may change according to administrative requirements. Candidates can apply for one or more posts if they meet the eligibility requirements for each post, but only one application should be submitted.

Income Tax Delhi Sports-Wise Vacancy Details 2026

The notification distributes the recruitment opportunities across 27 sports disciplines, with 67 men’s and 52 women’s vacancies.

Important: The sport-wise vacancies are tentative and subject to change or reallocation. The department may consider eligible sportspersons from other notified disciplines where the prescribed conditions permit.

Post-Wise Educational Qualification

Qualification Cut-off: Candidates must have acquired the prescribed educational qualifications on or before 31 August 2026.

Skill Test Requirements

Tax Assistant: Selected candidates must complete the prescribed computer data-entry skill test at a speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.

Stenographer Grade-II: Candidates must pass the stenography skill test involving dictation at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes. The prescribed transcription duration is 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on a computer.

The age limit is determined as of 31 August 2026.

Age Relaxation

Eligible meritorious sportspersons can receive upper-age relaxation of up to 5 years under Government of India instructions. For eligible SC/ST sportspersons, the relaxation may extend up to 10 years.

Age relaxation is available only to candidates satisfying the prescribed sports eligibility and other recruitment requirements.

Income Tax Delhi Sports Quota Salary 2026

The notified posts carry the following 7th Central Pay Commission pay levels.

The above pay ranges correspond to the notified pay levels under the Central Government pay matrix. Applicable allowances and service conditions will be governed by relevant government rules.

Sports Eligibility for Income Tax Delhi Recruitment 2026

Applicants must have recognized sporting achievements in the events and competitions prescribed by the notification. Sports performance achieved between 1 January 2020 and 15 October 2026 will be considered.

The notification establishes the following order of preference for eligible sportspersons:

1. Candidates representing India in recognized international competitions, with the required sports-authority clearance.
2. Candidates representing a State or Union Territory in recognized Senior or Junior National Championships and securing the prescribed medal or position.
3. Candidates representing a university in Inter-University competitions and securing the prescribed position.
4. Candidates representing a State or Union Territory in eligible Khelo India Games competitions.
5. Candidates representing State Schools in recognized National School Games competitions and securing the prescribed position.
6. Candidates representing a State, Union Territory, University or State School team at the specified competition level without winning a medal or position.

Important: Sporting achievement certificates must be issued by the competent authorities and submitted in the prescribed formats. Participation or achievement outside the recognized competition categories does not automatically establish eligibility.

Sports Certificate Requirements

Candidates must use the relevant certificate forms prescribed in Annexure-II of the notification. Sports certificates issued in formats not prescribed by the notification will not be accepted.

Income Tax Delhi Sports Quota Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process focuses on the candidates’ sports achievements, consistency of performance, age, educational qualifications and suitability for the posts.

1. Scrutiny of Online Applications and Supporting Documents

3. Verification of Sports Certificates and Other Documents
4. Applicable Skill Test or Assessment Requirements
5. Final Selection and Appointment, subject to departmental verification

The department may evaluate sports achievements according to the notified order of preference and eligibility rules. Shortlisting or inclusion in a provisional merit list does not itself guarantee appointment.

Appointment and Probation Conditions

The notification states that selected candidates will be posted in the Delhi Region and placed on probation for two years or such period as prescribed by the applicable government rules.

Selected sportspersons may be required to represent the department in tournaments and sports activities in accordance with departmental conditions. The notification also contains provisions concerning minimum service obligations and inter-charge transfers.
