Walk-in interviews for 7 contractual medical posts are being held from 10 November 2026 to 19 November 2026, with each institution holding its own date, and reporting time is 10.30 AM at the Office of the Principal cum Chief Supdt. of the respective institutions (GMCH, Guwahati; SMCH, Silchar; DMCH, Diphu; TMCH, Tezpur; NMCH, Nagaon; JMCH, Jorhat). About ASACS Recruitment 2026

The Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) is a state-level society whose office of the Project Director is at Khanapara, Guwahati. These posts are in the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART Plus and ART) Centres and the Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Centre run under the Society at six institutions in Assam. Posts and Eligibility

The notice prints the following institution-wise vacancies, places of posting and interview dates. The posts add up to 7: 6 Medical Officer and 1 Senior Medical Officer.

Senior Medical Officer (SMO) at ART Plus Centre

• Essential qualification: MBBS with valid registration from the State Medical Council of Assam/NMC or MBBS with Post Graduate (MD/Diploma) including DNB in any clinical discipline recognized by NMC.
• Essential experience: 3 years experience is needed for MBBS candidates.
• Fresher Post Graduates from Clinical Discipline will be considered.
• Good working knowledge of computer, MS office.
• Desirable: Work Experience in HIV/AIDS Programme in field settings. Those with MD Medicine / Diploma in Medicine will be preferred.
• Age: Not more than 65 years as on 01/04/2026.
• Remuneration: Rs. 90,000/- per month.

Medical Officer at ART Plus & ART Centre

• Essential qualification: MBBS with valid registration from the State Medical Council of Assam/NMC.
• Essential experience: 6 months work experience. Post Graduates from Clinical Discipline will also be considered.
• Good working knowledge of computer, MS office.
• Desirable: Work Experience in HIV/AIDS Programme in field settings. Those with MD Medicine / Diploma in Medicine will be preferred.
• Age: Not more than 65 years as on 01/04/2026.
• Remuneration: Rs. 72,000/- per month.

Medical Officer at OST Centre

• Essential qualification: MBBS with valid registration from the State Medical Council of Assam/NMC.
• Desirable: 6 months of Junior Residency in any clinical branch. Work Experience in HIV/AIDS Programme in field settings.
• Those with MD Psychiatry / Diploma in Psychiatry Medicine (DPM) will be preferred.
• Good working knowledge of computer, MS office.
• Age: Not more than 65 years as on 01/04/2026.
• Remuneration: Rs. 72,000/- per month.

The age limit for all posts is not more than 65 years as on 01/04/2026; the notice does not list any age relaxation. Candidates should check the official notification for the exact eligibility of the post they wish to attend for.

What to Bring

• All the original testimonials.
• A standard form of application, to be submitted before the interview board.
• A set of self-attested photocopies of all the original documents.
• A recent passport size photograph.
• Proof of photo identity (Passport / Voter Card / Aadhar Card / Driving License / PAN Card etc.), to be produced to the interview board.

What Happens on the Day

Candidates report at 10.30 AM at the Office of the Principal cum Chief Supdt. of the institution where the post is, on the date fixed for that institution. The application form, photocopies and photograph are submitted before the interview board.

• The walk-in interview (written and/or viva voce) will be conducted as per NACO’s guidelines.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be allowed to appear in the written test and/or viva voce interview.
• Candidates must show proof of photo identity to the interview board to appear in the interview.
• No electronic devices will be allowed inside the examination hall.

Important Instructions

• Appointment is on contractual basis, initially for a period up to 31/03/2027.
• The contract may be extended based on performance appraisal and is co-terminus with the project.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• The undersigned (Project Director) reserves the right to reject any or all applications and the interview process without assigning any reason thereof.
