All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) has announced 1 vacancy for the Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker post under a project-based recruitment for 2026. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project for a tenure of 12 months in the Department of Biochemistry, AIIMS, New Delhi. Eligible candidates possessing a Graduate degree from a recognised University and an age limit of 50 years as on the last date of application can apply, with age relaxation as per Government of India rules. The approved pay for the post is Rs. 18,000/- per month + HRA as admissible (27% as per the DBT sanction), as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10.07.2020. Essential Qualification

• Graduate degree from a recognised University.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
• Hands-on experience in phlebotomy (venous blood collection).
• Working knowledge of basic laboratory techniques (sample processing, centrifugation, aliquoting, labelling and storage of blood samples).
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry).

Pay and Tenure

The selected candidate will receive Rs. 18,000/- per month + HRA as admissible (27% as per the DBT sanction), as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10.07.2020. The duration is 12 months (the post is sanctioned for the 1st year of the project only). The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, and confers no claim to regular appointment or extension at AIIMS.

AIIMS Delhi Recruitment 2026 Job Description

The expected role and job responsibilities are:

• Identification and recruitment of study participants (premature-ASCVD patients and controls) from the Cardiology OPD/wards, AIIMS New Delhi, and assisting with the informed consent process.
• Peripheral venous blood collection (phlebotomy) from participants, following standard biosafety precautions.
• Sample processing – separation of plasma/serum/buffy coat, aliquoting, labelling and storage at –80 °C; maintaining the sample inventory.
• Assisting with clinical laboratory testing, DNA isolation and DNA quality assessment.
• Collection of demographic and clinical data on case record forms, and data entry into the study database.
• Maintaining project records, ethics committee documents and consumable registers; assisting in preparing reports for DBT; coordinating with collaborating departments and the partner site (AIIMS Guwahati).
