Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Mumbai (AYJNISHD) has released Employment Notification 02/2026-27 inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for contractual positions. Points to note about the vacancy numbers

• For Assistant Professor (Clinical Psychology), 03 posts are notified but only one posting (Chhatarpur – 01) is named.
• For Lecturer (Occupational Therapy), 03 posts are notified but two postings (Nagpur – 01 and Chhatarpur – 01) are named.
• For Vocational Instructor, 01 post is notified but two postings (Nagpur – 01 and Chhatarpur – 01) are named.

AYJNISHD Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility depends on the post applied for. Each post has its own essential qualification, experience and age condition, given in the sections below. Some conditions apply to all posts:

• Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens.
• Candidates must ensure before applying that they meet the eligibility criteria in the advertisement. If a candidate is found ineligible at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled.
• Candidates must hold a valid CRR Registration Number of RCI, New Delhi, or equivalent registration, as on the last date for submission of application, wherever applicable.
• The prescribed essential qualifications and experience are minimum requirements. Having them does not guarantee a call for an interview, written test or skill test.
• Candidates employed in Government/Aided/Autonomous bodies must attach a No Objection Certificate issued by the employer.

AYJNISHD Qualification

The table gives the essential and desirable qualification and experience for each post, as written in the notification. In the notification, the Assistant Professor (Audiology) entry marks Ph.D with an asterisk (core area*), but the asterisk is not explained in the document.

AYJNISHD Age Limit

The notification gives an upper age limit for each post in its post details. It does not mention the age cut-off date or any age relaxation for reserved categories or other groups. The application form does ask for age as on the last date of submission of application.

AYJNISHD Application Fee

Candidates must submit a Demand Draft along with the application. A separate application and a separate Demand Draft are needed for each post.

• The Institute will not be responsible for sending replies to candidates who are not selected or not called for the interview/written test/skill test.
• No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates.
• Late, incomplete applications, or applications without copies of mark sheets/certificates/proof of age, experience or other relevant documents, photograph, fee or signature, or not in the prescribed format will be summarily rejected.
• The decision of the Competent Authority regarding eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application is final and binding. No enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.
• AYJNISHD(D) will retain application data of non-shortlisted candidates for six months after completion of the engagement process, that is, issue of the offer letter to the selected candidate.

How to Apply for AYJNISHD Recruitment 2026

The notification describes an offline process. The steps below follow the notification and its application form.

1. Read the notification and confirm that you meet the qualification, experience and age conditions for the post. Confirm that you hold a valid CRR/RCI or equivalent registration where applicable.
2. Fill in the prescribed application form (one application for each post). Affix a recent passport-size photograph and self-attest it, and tick any one location in the form.
3. Prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- per post, drawn in favour of the Director, Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), payable at Mumbai. Write your name and the post applied for on the backside of the Demand Draft.
4. Attach self-attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates/proof of age, experience/CRR No., and other relevant documents related to category, salary drawn, disability and so on. Employed candidates should attach a No Objection Certificate from the employer.
5. Sign the application. Write the Name of the Post Applied for and the Advertisement Number on the top of the envelope. Use separate envelopes if applying for more than one post.

• Educational qualifications beginning with 10th std. onwards, and professional/technical qualifications: examination passed, year of passing, marks details (max marks, marks obtained), percentage of marks, division/class, board/university, college/institution and subject taken, with self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificates.
• Work experience (latest first, with proof of each experience): name and address of organization, designation and job type (Regular/Contract), scale of pay and grade pay/consolidated, period of service (from, to, total years, total months), and nature of work and level of responsibilities.
• Any other professional training undergone, apart from essential and desirable ones, and any other relevant information.
• Declaration, with date, place and signature of the candidate.

In the declaration, the candidate confirms that the information is true, complete and correct, and that if any information is found false, incorrect or suppressed before or after the test/interview or during the appointment period, the candidature/appointment will automatically stand cancelled/repatriated/terminated without any notice or compensation.

AYJNISHD Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions and Contract Terms

Instructions for candidates

• Concealment or submission of false information will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.
• Any political/official interference, influence, canvassing or pressure in any form will result in disqualification of the candidature and appropriate action. No correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
• No interim enquiries, correspondence or communication of any kind will be entertained. Any corrigendum, revision of the advertisement or other information about the recruitment will be posted on the official website of AYJNISHD(D), Mumbai.
• The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason, and to cancel the advertisement or any part of it without assigning any reason.
• If any inadvertent error is detected in the selection process at any stage, even after issue of an offer of appointment, AYJNISHD(D) reserves the right to withdraw, cancel or modify any communication made to the candidate.

Terms of contractual engagement

• The contractual appointment will be on a full-time basis. The candidate will not be permitted to take up any other commercial assignment during the period of engagement.
• The engagement may be terminated by the Competent Authority at any time without assigning any reason by giving 30 days’ notice. A consultant/contractual staff member who wishes to resign may do so by giving 30 days’ advance notice or remuneration in lieu thereof.
• Engagement will be governed by the rules, regulations, terms and conditions of the Institute as currently in force or as may be framed, amended, altered or extended from time to time by the DEPwD/Institute/NBER-RCI.
• Paid leave, wherever admissible, may be granted as per the provisions of the relevant scheme, NBER guidelines and the applicable rules/policy of the concerned Institute/CRC.
• The term of appointment shall ordinarily be for an initial period not exceeding 3 years, extendable up to a maximum of 5 years. Extension beyond 3 years requires approval of the Governing Council of the Institute/Executive Council of the Institute/CRC. In no case shall the engagement be extended beyond 5 years.
• For Group ‘A’ posts, the contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to 3 years based on annual performance appraisal initiated by the Director, AYJNISHD(D), and reviewed by the Joint Secretary and Chairperson, Executive Council of the Institute.
• For Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts, the contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to 3 years by the Director, AYJNISHD(D), based on annual performance appraisal and recommendation of the committee constituted by the Director.
