Posts and Eligibility

Essential Qualifications

• M. Sc (Ag). in Genetics & Plant Breeding / Genetics & Cytogenetics / Horticulture / Plant Pathology / Plant Genetic Resources, OR M.Sc. in Botany / Genetics / M. Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology / Plant Science, with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent OGPA.
• Candidates having a PG degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualification.
• Candidates may ensure their eligibility as per ICAR memorandum F. No. Ag. Edn.6/27/2014-HRD dated 30th July 2019 before applying.

Desirable Qualifications

• Research experience with Pearl Millet/Millets/field crops; design, layout and handling of field experiments, selfing and crossing techniques, field evaluation, data recording and analysis using statistical software.
• Experience in DUS characterization in field crops etc.

Relevant certificates for essential and desirable qualifications are compulsory. Only candidates having essential qualifications will be allowed to attend the interview.

Age Limit

Maximum age is 35 years for Senior Research Fellow. The application format asks for age as on the date of interview.

Pay and Contract Terms

• Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA per month.
• The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis till the expiry of the project.
• Tenure is till 31.03.2027 and further extendable based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds under the project.
• Selected candidates shall not claim regular appointment/absorption in ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad or the funding agency at the end of the project.
• The selected candidate may have to join immediately.

What to Bring

• Duly filled application form in the format of Annexure – I, with a photograph affixed and signed. A duly filled in application form is compulsory.
• Annexure – II declaration about relatives employed in ICAR-IIMR (either that none is employed, or the particulars of relatives working in ICAR).
• All relevant original testimonials (date of birth, degree certificate, experience certificate, etc., if any) to be shown.
• A set of attested copies of all certificates, for verification at registration and before joining, if selected.
• Self-attested certificates and mark sheets from class 10th onwards, and experience certificates.
• No objection certificate from the current employer, if employed.

What Happens on the Day

Candidates report for registration, where original certificates are shown and attested copies are submitted, and then attend the walk-in interview. The reporting time is till 10:15 AM with a grace period of 15 mins, and applications of candidates reporting after the prescribed time will not be accepted. The decision of the Head RRS on Pearl Millet is final and binding in all respects.
