Age Limit

The upper age limit is 45 Years as on 07th Feb 2026. Relaxation is applicable as per State Govt. Rule, i.e., 05 Years for SC/ST, 03 Years for EBC/BC and 03 years for all categories of Female Candidate.

Selection Process

The selection process for the IGIMS Senior Resident recruitment involves document verification followed by an interview. Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualifying criteria for appointment to the post of Senior Residents, which are:

• UR – 50th Percentile
• BC/EBC/EWS – 45th Percentile
• SC/ST – 40th Percentile

The scheme of marking for such ad-hoc appointments is based on academic qualifications (MBBS, MS/MD/DNB, additional qualifications, publications, poster/presentation, academic award, specialized training, project/extramural) and subject knowledge, totaling 100 marks.

• The post is non-practicing, and private practice of any kind, direct or indirect, is strictly prohibited.
• Candidates employed in Government or Semi Government departments must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview.
• Reservation and relaxation benefits are applicable only to Bihar State Domicile candidates.
• The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject or accept any or all applications without assigning any reason.
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
• No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
