Mumbai Port Authority Junior Professional Intern Period of Engagement

• Initial engagement period: 2 years
• Extension: Can be extended by an additional 2 years, with a 2-day break, based on performance; no further extension after that
• Performance review: Conducted every 6 months during the engagement
• Nature of role: Full-time; the intern cannot take up any other assignment during the engagement period
• Experience certificate: Issued only if the intern completes at least 1 year of engagement

Mumbai Port Authority Junior Professional Intern Selection Process

According to the notification, applications received will be scrutinised and shortlisted based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and other details provided in the application form. Shortlisted candidates may be called for a test or interview before final selection. The notification clarifies that merely fulfilling the eligibility conditions, or being shortlisted, does not confer any right to be engaged as Junior Professional Intern. No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the written examination or interview, if called.

Working Hours

Working hours are normally from 10 AM to 6 PM on working days, though hours may be extended based on work requirements, with a compensatory day of rest for work done on a weekly off or public holiday.

Leave

Junior Professional Interns are eligible for 20 days of Casual Leave in a calendar year, on a pro-rata basis. Absence beyond this (on a pro-rata basis) leads to deduction in remuneration, and unavailed leave cannot be carried forward or encashed. Absence of more than 15 days beyond the entitled leave can lead to termination of services.
