PGVCL Junior Assistant Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply (PwBD Category)

Only Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates are eligible to apply. The suitable disabilities for this post are:

• Low Vision (LV) – 40% to 70% disability
• Hard of Hearing (HH) – 40% to 70% disability
• One Arm (OA)
• One Leg (OL)
• Dwarfism (D)
• Leprosy Cured (LC)
• Acid Attack Victim (AAV)
• Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
• Spinal Injury (SI)
• Spinal Deformity (SD)

As per rules, a minimum of 40% disability is required for consideration under the PwBD quota. Applications and appointments will be considered as per the company’s rules.

PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Educational Qualification

• B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., B.C.A., or B.B.A. through Regular, External, or Open/Distance Learning (ODL) mode from a university recognized by UGC/AICTE.
• Candidates must have a minimum average of 55% marks in the last year / last two semesters of graduation.
• Any programme/course through ODL and/or online mode must be from a university/institute accredited by NAAC with a minimum score of 3.01 on a 4-point scale, or NBA accreditation with at least 650 points on a scale of 1000.
• The percentage of marks specified for eligibility is considered the exact requirement – no rounding off or upward adjustment is permitted.
• Candidates with grades (instead of percentage) in their result must submit a certificate from their University/Institute specifying the equivalent percentage, along with decimals, at the time of document verification.

PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Salary / Fixed Remuneration

• No other allowance or benefits are admissible during the fixed-remuneration tenure.
• TA/DA will be reimbursed as per rules.
• The candidate is initially appointed for 3 years as Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) and may thereafter be considered for regular appointment as Junior Assistant in the pay scale of Rs. 25,000–55,800, subject to satisfactory completion of the three-year term.

PGVCL Application Fee 2026

• Only online payment is accepted – via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
• Bank charges, if any, shall be borne by the candidate.
• Application fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted in any subsequent recruitment process, under any circumstances.
• No other mode of payment (Demand Draft, Money Order, Postal Order, Cheque, etc.) is acceptable.

PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Selection Process 2026

Selection is made through a two-tier written examination followed by document verification and a medical examination.

1st Tier Examination

• Total marks: 100 (100 questions of 1 mark each).
• Conducted in Online or Offline mode depending on the number of applications received, at centres across Gujarat.
• Candidates scoring 45 marks or above qualify for the 2nd Tier Examination.
• Question paper will be in both Gujarati and English; questions on the Gujarati and English subjects themselves will be in Gujarati and English only respectively.

2nd Tier Examination

• Total marks: 100, in the same mode as the 1st Tier.
• Final ranking/merit is based on marks obtained in this exam.
• Minimum cut-off for selection is 45 marks and above for PwBD candidates.

Other Key Exam Rules

• Negative marking: 1/4th mark is deducted for each wrong answer in both tiers.
• If applications are received in large numbers, exams may be held in multiple batches, and scores will be adjusted using a Normalization Methodology (based on batch average and standard deviation) before declaring results.
• In case of any interpretation dispute, the English question paper shall be considered final.

Document Verification & Medical Examination

Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification and a pre-employment medical examination, based on available PwBD-category vacancies in the respective company. Intimation is sent only via the candidate’s registered email.

Documents Required for PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak PwBD Recruitment

The following self-attested documents must be produced as and when required by the company:

1. Online Application Form with two recent passport-size photographs (not older than 6 months)
2. School Leaving Certificate
3. Mark-sheets of final year of graduation, or last two semesters
4. Certificate from Institute/University specifying percentage equivalent (if grading system applies)
5. Degree Certificate
6. Valid Caste (Roster Category) Certificate – SC/ST/SEBC/EWS – of Gujarat State only
7. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for SEBC candidates), issued by Competent Authority of Gujarat State
8. EWS Certificate as per prescribed format (for EWS candidates)
9. Valid Disability Certificate from Civil Surgeon/designated Government authority, showing percentage of disability
10. Undertaking for genuineness of documents (Annexure-B)
11. Relieving Order/Certificate and Affidavit (Annexure-C), for dependents of retired GUVNL/Subsidiary employees
12. Death Certificate of deceased husband (for widow applicants)
13. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from present employer, if applicable
14. Domicile Certificate of Gujarat State
15. Online payment receipt
16. Photo Identification Proof (Voter ID / PAN Card / Aadhar Card / Driving License)
17. Residential Address Proof (Electricity Bill / Telephone Bill / Ration Card)
18. Any other applicable certificate/document

Candidates working in Government/Semi-Government/PSU organizations must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification, failing which their candidature will be rejected. Selected candidates already employed must submit a relieving letter from their previous employer at the time of joining, failing which the appointment order stands cancelled.

2. Register online and generate an application number by filling the online application form, following the step-by-step instructions.
3. Indicate your order of preference for the DISCOM companies (PGVCL, DGVCL, MGVCL, UGVCL) in ascending order – 1st choice as Choice No. 1, and so on. This preference is final and cannot be revised, added to, or altered later.
4. If you require a scribe (as a PwBD candidate), you must specifically make this choice while applying. If eligible, the scribe will be provided by the company as per rules.
5. Fill in all details correctly and completely – nothing should be concealed or withheld.
6. Pay the application fee of Rs. 250/- online through Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
7. Submit the application and take a printout of the completed application form for your records.

Note: Only candidates who complete the entire online application process and successfully make the online payment will be considered for further selection. However, mere submission of the application does not guarantee consideration for the further selection process.

Important Instructions for PGVCL PwBD Recruitment 2026

• The order of preference for companies does not confer any right to appointment in a preferred company; allotment is based on rank in the merit order and available vacancies.
• All original documents of selected candidates will be verified at the appropriate stage; if any criteria are not fulfilled, candidature will be cancelled immediately, and inclusion in the selection list will not be grounds for claiming employment.
• The Management reserves the right to short-list, select, or reject any candidate, and to cancel the Selection List at any time at its sole discretion, without assigning reasons.
• Selected candidates will be posted at any office under the jurisdiction of the GUVNL DISCOMs. Once posted to a company, transfer to another company is not allowed, except for one additional opportunity during the one-year validity of the result, which would be treated as a fresh appointment (with resignation from the current position).
• Candidates must fulfil requisite physical fitness standards as per company rules; failing this, they will not be considered for appointment.
• Any future amendment by the company regarding fixed remuneration, tenure, pay scale, service rules, or other terms will be binding on all candidates.
• Communication, if required, will be sent only through the candidate’s registered email.
• Applications under the RTI Act seeking information will not be entertained until the entire recruitment process is complete.
• Canvassing in any form will debar the candidate from selection.
