Minimum Qualification (summary)

• Nursing Superintendent: Registered Nurse & Midwife (3-yr GNM course) or B.Sc. Nursing
• Dialysis Technician: B.Sc. + Diploma in Haemodialysis, or 2 yrs experience/in-house training
• Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II: B.Sc. (Chemistry) + 1-yr Diploma/NTC in Health/Sanitary Inspector
• Audiologist & Speech Therapist: BASLP, registered with Rehabilitation Council of India
• Pharmacist (Entry Grade): B.Pharm or Pharm.D, registered under the Pharmacy Act, 1948
• Radiographer X-Ray Technician: 10+2 (PCM/PCB) + 2-yr Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technology, or equivalent B.Sc.
• ECG Technician: 10+2/Graduation in Science + Certificate/Diploma in ECG/Cardiology Technology
• Optometrist: B.Sc. Optometry or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician (3–4 yrs), registered with the concerned council
• Lab Assistant Gr. II: 12th (Science) + Diploma/Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (min. 1 yr), or B.Sc. MLT

Age Limit & Relaxation

Age limits are reckoned as on 01.01.2027 and vary by post (see the post table above, 18–40 years depending on post).

Examination Fee

Fee is payable online only (net banking/debit/credit card/UPI). Refunds are credited only to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account and only to candidates who attend the CBT.

Selection Process – CBT Pattern

• Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for scribe assistance).
• Objective, multiple-choice, single-stage CBT; negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer.
• Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL & SC 30%, ST 25% (relaxable by 2 marks for PwBD where vacancies remain unfilled).
• Candidates equal to the number of vacancies (RRB-wise, 1:1) are called for Document Verification based on CBT merit.
• DV is followed by a Medical Examination as per the post’s medical standard (B1/C1/C2); medically unfit candidates get no alternative post.
• Final empanelment is based on CBT merit, subject to DV and medical fitness; selection does not itself confer a right to appointment.

How to Apply

1. Visit the unified RRB website rrb.indianrailways.gov.in and navigate to the CEN 05/2026 application link.
2. Create an Account (or use existing RRB login credentials from earlier CENs) with a valid personal mobile number and email ID – these cannot be changed later.
3. Authenticate identity via DigiLocker/Aadhaar for smoother verification at later stages (recommended).
4. Choose only one RRB and give your order of preference for posts/Railway Zones within that RRB.
5. Capture a live photograph via webcam/phone camera as instructed (no pre-existing photo uploads allowed).
6. Upload your signature (JPG/JPEG, 30–49 KB) and, if claiming SC/ST free travel, the SC/ST certificate (PDF, under 400 KB).
7. Choose your CBT medium of examination (English, Hindi, or one of 13 regional languages).
8. Pay the examination fee online (net banking/card/UPI) to complete submission.
9. Use the modification window (17–26 October 2026, ₹250 fee) if corrections are needed – except to Create-an-Account details or chosen RRB.

Documents Required (at Document Verification)

• Matriculation/10th certificate (for name and date of birth proof)
• Educational/technical/professional qualification certificates as per the post applied for
• Caste/community certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), in the prescribed Annexure format, where reservation is claimed
• EBC/Minority community certificate, where fee concession is claimed
• PwBD disability certificate (Form V/VI) and UDID, where applicable
• Ex-Servicemen discharge/employment certificate, where applicable
• Aadhaar card (for identity and fee refund linkage)
• NOC from present employer, for candidates already in Government/PSU service
• Two sets of self-attested photocopies of all original documents

Important Conditions

• Vacancies are provisional and may increase, decrease, or become nil depending on the Railway Administration’s requirements.
• Candidates waiting for final results of the prescribed qualification are NOT eligible to apply.
• Free Sleeper Class train travel is admissible only to SC/ST candidates (if opted) for CBT/DV/Medical Examination stages.
• Selected candidates are ordinarily posted to the Railway/Zone of first appointment; transfer requests are not entertained until 5–10 years of service.
• Selection by RRB does not confer any right to appointment – the RRB only recommends candidates; the Zonal Railway issues the actual offer.
• Any use of unfair means, impersonation, or false information leads to lifetime debarment from all RRB/RRC examinations and possible legal action.
• Banned items (mobile phones, calculators, watches, etc.) are not allowed inside the examination centre; only the e-call letter is permitted.
