The Search cum Selection Committee of Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), Tiruchirappalli, has invited applications/nominations from eminent academicians in the field of Law for the post of Vice-Chancellor. Applicants need at least ten years of experience, must not be above 67 years of age as on 16 November 2026, and must email a CV with a vision statement to [email protected] and also send a hard copy by Speed Post. Both copies must reach by 5 PM on 16 November 2026.

About TNNLU

Tamil Nadu National Law University is a university in Tiruchirappalli, established under the Tamil Nadu National Law University Act, 2012 (Tamil Nadu Act No. 9 of 2012). The Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, who is the Chancellor of TNNLU, has constituted a Search cum Selection Committee to prepare a panel of names for appointment to the post of Vice Chancellor.

Who Can Apply

The Vice-Chancellor should be a distinguished academician with the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment. The candidate should have either:

• at least ten years of experience as a Professor in a University, or
• at least ten years of experience in reputed research organisation and/or academic / administrative organisation, with proof of demonstrated academic leadership.

The candidate should have proven leadership qualities and be able to lead the University in promoting teaching and research to the highest level of excellence. The Vice-Chancellor should also be able to promote the University at the national and international levels and build strong linkages with reputed academic institutions, Government and Industry.

Age limit: the candidate/nominee should not be above 67 years of age as on 16 November 2026.

The terms of appointment will be as per the Tamil Nadu National Law University Act, 2012. The notice does not print the pay or allowances for the post.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interaction with the Search cum Selection Committee. They will be paid T.A./D.A. as per the university rules. The Committee prepares a panel of names for appointment to the post.
