Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) has released the recruitment notification UPMRC/HR/D/2/2026 for 1 Project Director post on a deputation basis. The notified pay scale for the post is Rs. 1,50,000- 3,00,000, with a normal tenure of deputation for a period of 3 years, which may be extendable. Eligible candidates holding a B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent from Government recognized University/Institute can apply. Who Can Apply

Candidates must fulfill the following educational qualification, experience, and age criteria to be eligible for the Project Director post:

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent from Government recognized University/Institute.
• Service Requirement (Option 1): The applicant should be working for atleast two years in SAG or an equivalent grade in the pay scale of Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000 (IDA) or Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200/Level-14 of 7th CPC Pay matrix (CDA) in Government organisations/ Government Metro companies, with proven track record of a minimum of twenty (20) years of service at Group A / Executive Level.
• Service Requirement (Option 2): An applicant who is presently working in CDA/IDA pay scales in Government Organisations/ Government Metro Companies and has previously worked in the Private sector, his services in executive in reputed Private sector will also be considered for computing the requisite twenty (20) years of executive level service. In this regard, the applicant should submit necessary documents in support of executive level experience.
• Eligible Work Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Planning/ Construction, tendering and executing multi-disciplinary/ large infrastructure projects of Metro/ Railways.
• Age Limit: Max. 57 years as on the last date of vacancy notification (23/10/2026).

Desirable Work Experience

• Experience in underground Metro constructions including tunnels.
• Experience of all phases of project of internationally funded contracts i.e. planning, tender document preparation, bidding, execution, commissioning, post-commissioning etc.
• Experience and knowledge of complying with project related requirements of international funding institutions.
• Experience and knowledge of coordinating and interfacing with Railway related disciplines such as track installation, signaling, electrification and rolling stock etc.
• Experience and knowledge of safety aspects relating to railway construction including clearance and certification from Commissioner of Railway Safety (CMRS).

Pay and Terms

The scale of pay is Rs. 1,50,000- 3,00,000 on Absorption basis. On Deputation basis, the selected candidate will receive Parent pay plus deputation allowance. The normal tenure of deputation is for a period of 3 years, which may be extendable. Applicants chosen on absorption basis will execute a Surety bond of Rs. 3,00,000/- to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of three years (exclusive of the period in which one remained in LWP or EOL) and provide three months prior notice before seeking resignation. Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years (including the period of training).

UPMRC Project Director Job Description

The incumbent of the post shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Overall Project Management for all civil construction activities including safety and quality control, planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling of preliminary and final designs, tendering, track works, contract administration and commissioning.
• Project monitoring, interface management, quality assurance and safety, cost control of works for the project.
• Land acquisition, rehabilitation of project affected persons/ businesses, utility and traffic diversions etc required for construction of the Metro Project.
• Arranging necessary clearances and statutory approvals for implementation of project during construction and commissioning.

Selection Process

• The applicant must be physically and medically fit as per Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM).
• Applications received after closing date and time or incomplete applications will not be entertained.
• UPMRC will not be responsible for postal delays or wrong delivery.
• All candidates called for interview shall not be paid any travelling allowance by UPMRC.
