National e-Governance Division, Digital India Corporation (NeGD) has announced recruitment for 2 vacancies for the Product Manager (AI) post on a contract basis. The engagement is purely temporary for an initial period of 3 years, extendable as per project requirements, with New Delhi as the place of posting. Candidates applying for the Product Manager (AI) post must hold a B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, Data Science or related discipline, with 10-12 years of product management experience including 4-6 years in AI/ML, and be a maximum of 55 years of age as on 26 October 2026. Educational Qualification

• Must Have: B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related technical field.
• Preferred: MBA/M.Tech. in Management, Systems Engineering, or Product Management certification.
• Highly Desirable: Advanced degree (M.S./M.Tech.) in AI/ML, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
• Desirable Certifications: Product Management certifications (Certified Scrum Product Owner, Product School AI PM Certification), AI/ML certifications (DeepLearning.AI, Google AI Product Manager), Agile/SAFe Product Owner certifications, Programme Management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe).

Experience

• 10–12 years in product management with minimum 4–6 years in AI/ML or digital transformation initiatives.
• 3–5 years in senior product management roles leading AI-powered products from conception to launch.
• 2–3 years managing cross-functional teams including data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-grade AI products with measurable business impact.
• Prior experience in programme delivery for government or PSU initiatives desirable.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit shall be 55 years on the closing date of receipt of application (26.10.2026).

NeGD Product Manager (AI) Job Description

Selected candidates will be responsible for the following key areas:

• Define and own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-driven government services within the owned pod cluster.
• Lead product discovery, market research, and user research to identify citizen pain points and opportunities for AI intervention.
• Translate complex business requirements and government use cases into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Oversee complete product lifecycle from ideation through launch, adoption, and continuous improvement for 8–10 concurrent AI initiatives.
• Manage cross-functional collaboration between AI/ML engineers, data scientists, MLOps, UX designers, business analysts, and government stakeholders.
• Define and track key product metrics (KPIs, OKRs) including user adoption, accuracy, response times, cost per transaction, and citizen satisfaction scores.
• Manage product budgets, resource allocation, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure Responsible AI principles are applied, including ethical AI deployment, bias mitigation, transparency, and compliance with MeitY guidelines.
• Own the programme risk register and drive mitigation of delivery, technical, agency, and compliance risks.

• The positions are purely temporary in nature for the project of NeGD/DIC for an initial period of 3 years, extendable as per project requirements.
• Appointees shall not derive any right or claim for permanent appointment at NeGD/DIC or on any future vacancies.
• NeGD reserves the right to terminate appointments with a notice of one month or without notice by paying one month’s salary in lieu of notice.
• The place of posting is New Delhi, but it is transferable to project locations of NeGD as per existing policy.
• Candidates currently employed in government or public sector undertakings must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
