IISER Kolkata Vacancy 2026: Post-wise Vacancy Details

IISER Kolkata Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Senior Superintendent

• Qualification: Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
• Experience: At least five years of experience in Pay Level 6 or above as Junior Superintendent or an equivalent post.
• The experience must be in administrative, finance and accounts, academic, legal, statutory, audit, stores and purchase or establishment matters.
• Experience should be from a Central or State Government organization, government-funded educational institution, government university, comparable research establishment or institution of higher education.

Counsellor

• Qualification: Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or Social Work in Medical and Psychiatric specialization.
• Experience: Five years of experience in counselling students regarding academic, psychosocial and emotional issues.
• The experience should be from a reputed academic institution or organization.

Junior Engineer (Civil)

Candidates must possess either of the following qualifications:

• First-class Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute with at least five years of field experience in the construction or maintenance of building projects; or
• First-class Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute with at least eight years of relevant field experience.

Experience in organizations or firms undertaking work according to CPWD, PWD or other government norms is preferred.

Nursing Assistant

• Qualification: Four-year B.Sc. Nursing degree from a recognized university or institute.
• Candidates must be registered with the Indian Nursing Council or a State Nursing Council.
• Experience: Five years of clinical experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds.
• Experience may be from Central Government, State Government or recognized private hospitals, nursing homes or similar organizations.

Junior Office Assistant (MS)

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks.
• Excellent computer proficiency in office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience: Four years of relevant experience in an office environment.

Junior Assistant (MS)

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks.
• Excellent computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office applications.
• Experience: Three years of relevant experience in office practices, hospitality or catering services.

Attendant

• Qualification: Matriculation or a three-year diploma in a relevant field from a recognized university or institute.
• Experience: Three years of relevant experience in a laboratory, academic or research establishment of national or international repute.
• Relevant areas include handling scientific equipment, computer networking, IT, e-classrooms, audio-visual equipment, CCTV networking, cooking or catering.

IISER Kolkata Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The upper age limit varies by post and category, as shown below. The lower age limit and age relaxation details are not specified in the provided notification.

Age Relaxation

• Age relaxation will be provided according to Government of India rules.
• SC, ST and OBC candidates can claim age relaxation only when applying against vacancies reserved for their respective category.

Selection Process

The IISER Kolkata non-teaching selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Shortlisting of online applications
2. Computer Skill Test and/or Trade Test
3. Written Examination
4. Document Verification
5. Medical fitness and verification of character and antecedents

Stage 1: Shortlisting of Applications

An institute-level Scrutiny Committee will examine the applications. If IISER Kolkata receives a large number of applications, candidates may be shortlisted based on qualifications, relevant experience and other prescribed criteria.

Stage 2: Computer Skill Test or Trade Test

Shortlisted candidates may be required to appear for a Computer Skill Test, Trade Test or both. These tests will be qualifying in nature, and their marks will not be added to the final written examination score.

Stage 3: Written Examination

2. Complete the registration process using an active email address and mobile number.
3. Log in and select the required non-teaching post.
4. Fill in the personal, educational, experience and category details carefully.
5. Upload the required certificates and supporting documents.
6. Pay the applicable application and registration fee online.
7. Submit the online application by 19 October 2026 up to 5:30 PM.
8. Download and print the PDF of the submitted application.
9. Attach self-attested copies of all relevant certificates, testimonials and enclosures.
10. Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF …………………” on the envelope.
11. Send the application through Speed Post, Registered Post or courier so that it reaches IISER Kolkata by 29 October 2026 up to 5:30 PM.

Important Certificate Conditions

Important Instructions
