About NSCD

Posts and Eligibility

NSCD is engaging one Hindi-Translator-cum-Typist as a young professional on contract. The first contract is for one year and may be extended year to year. Pay is a consolidated remuneration of 35,000.00 per month.

Essential Qualification

Candidates need any one of the following Master’s degrees:

• Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or
• Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or
• Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or
• Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.

AND a recognized Diploma or Certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government Office, including a Government of India Undertaking.

Experience

Applicants must have at least 01 year’s experience in Rajbhasha-related activities, especially translation work from English to Hindi and vice versa, in Central Government/State Government/PSU/Central or State Autonomous Body etc.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years of age as on 28.10.2026.

NSCD Hindi-Translator-cum-Typist Job Description

The notice lists this scope of work:

• Translation from English to Hindi and vice versa.
• Typing in Hindi (Unicode, Krutidev etc.) and English as per requirement.

• Self-attested photocopies of all related documents, for verification of credentials
• All original testimonials / documents, for verification
• Pen, pencil and hard board

What Happens on the Day

1. Report at National Science Centre, Delhi on 28 October 2026 at 09:30 a.m. sharp. No candidate will be allowed to enter after 10:45 A.M.
2. Hand in the filled-in Application Form with your self-attested photocopies. Your credentials will be checked against the originals.
3. Take the walk-in-test and the skill test.

Important Instructions

• Contract period: The initial contract is for one year. It may be extended year to year depending on functional requirement, performance appraisal and the person’s medical fitness.
• Accommodation: NSCD will not provide accommodation or house rent.
• Tax: Income tax or any other tax due under the prevailing rules will be deducted at source before payment. NSCD will issue a TDS certificate as applicable.
• Termination by NSCD: National Science Centre, Delhi under NCSM, Kolkata reserves the right to end the contract at any time without prior notice and without giving a reason. In the normal course, the contract may be ended with one month’s notice or one month’s salary, as the case may be.
• Termination by the translator: The Hindi translator can also end the contract by giving at least one month’s notice to the Centre.
• Other terms: All other terms and conditions of the engagement will follow Govt. of India guidelines.
