Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Degree or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognised University / Institution (4 year Degree course); officers of Major Ports eligible for absorption as per Annexure-I
• Experience: For absorption: officers holding analogous posts or holding posts in the scale of pay of Rs.24900-50500/- with 3 years regular service in the grade, or officers holding posts in the scale of pay of Rs.24900-50500/- with 2 years regular service in the grade and a combined regular service of 7 years in the scales of pay of Rs.24900-50500/- and Rs.20600-46500/- in the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department in a Major Port Trust
• Age limit: Maximum 50 years (as on 1 December 2026)

• Only officers of Major Ports fulfilling the Recruitment Rules at Annexure-I may apply
• Crucial date for determining eligibility is 01.12.2026
• Vigilance and administrative clearance of the concerned Port is required

• Undertaking that candidature will not be withdrawn if selected by the Service Selection Committee
• Vigilance and administrative clearance as per Annexure-II and vigilance report in Annexure-III format
• Two recent passport size colour photographs and complete service details with posts held

How to Apply for SMPA Recruitment 2026 Online

1. Apply only on the Online Application Portal (OAP) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways at https://onlinevacancy.shipmin.nic.in from 06.11.2026 to 05.12.2026.
2. Submit the printout of the application as uploaded in the OAP, with all enclosures, to your administrative Port.
3. The administrative Port forwards the application with the listed documents in an envelope superscribed ‘Application for the post of Sr. Dy. Manager, Plant & Equipment Division, HDC, SMPA’.
4. The forwarded application must reach the office of the undersigned at HDC on or before 21.12.2026.

Other Points to Note

• An advance copy is not considered unless the application through proper channel reaches HDC by 21.12.2026
• An official who withdraws after selection by the Service Selection Committee is liable for debarment from Dy. HoD level selection in all Major Ports for two years
• Details of any major or minor penalty in the last 10 years may be sent by the forwarding authority with the application
