How to Prepare for UP Lekhpal Exam 2026

  1. Start with the marks map. Uttar Pradesh general information (20), computer and IT (15), General Hindi (10), Data Interpretation (10) and Environment and Disaster Management (10) together make up 65 of the 100 marks. Give these five areas the first block of your study time.
  2. Build a timetable around all 12 sections. The five-mark subjects, such as history, polity, geography, economy, rural development, current events and science, are small individually but add up to 35 marks. Cover each one in short, regular sessions.
  3. Study Uttar Pradesh topics separately. Keep a dedicated set of notes for the state’s history, culture, geography, resources, economy, administration and recent achievements, since this is the largest single section.
  4. Practise in exam conditions. Solve previous year question papers and full mock tests on an OMR-style sheet within the exam time, so that the 100-question pace feels familiar.
  5. Attempt carefully because of negative marking. Each wrong answer costs ¼ of the question’s marks. Mark an answer only when you can eliminate options with reasonable confidence.
  6. Revise weak areas every week. After each mock test, list the topics where you lost marks and revise them before the next test, along with a steady habit of reading current affairs.
