Where and How to Send

Download the application form from the Chennai District Court website, https://chennai.dcourts.gov.in/. Submit the completed form by hand or send it by registered post to this address:

2. Deliver the completed application by hand, or send it by registered post, to the address above.
3. Make sure the application reaches the office by 5.00 PM on 16 November 2026. Applications delayed in the post will not be accepted.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Who Can Apply

You must live in Chennai revenue district, want to serve the public, and belong to one of these groups:

1. Teachers (including retired teachers)
2. Retired government employees and senior citizens
3. Students and teachers of Master of Social Work (M.S.W.)
4. Anganwadi workers
5. Doctors and health experts
6. Students and law students (law students only until they register as advocates)
7. Non-political non-governmental social service organisations, and leaders of associations
8. Members of women’s groups, Maitri Sanghams (friendship clubs) and self-help groups that include the poor
9. Any other person with a service mindset whom the District / Taluk Legal Services Authority considers suitable

Educational Qualification

Nature of Service and Honorarium

• A Para Legal Volunteer only gives service. This is not permanent employment.
• The engagement is purely temporary, with no basic salary or wages.
• An honorarium matching the service is paid, up to a maximum of Rs.750/- per day.
