The initial appointment is for one year or till the completion of the project with a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 25,000/- per month. About IIT Indore Project Assistant

Indian Institute of Technology Indore is conducting this recruitment through the Department of Chemistry for a research initiative focused on the technological innovation of a portable kit for post-harvest management. The project requires developing a new colourless photosensitizer for the storage of foods, fruits, and seeds. The selected candidate will assist the Project In-Charge with research work, fieldwork, literature review, tabulation, and academic coordination.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 28 years with a 2-year age relaxation for SC /ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped /Female candidates.

Pay and Tenure

The selected Project Assistant will receive a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 25,000/- per month. Remuneration is taxable as per the norms. The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, and initially valid for 1 year only or till completion of the project. The contract can be extended based on satisfactory performance until the completion of the project. The project manpower will not be entitled to any allowances such as Bonus, Gratuity, LTC, DA, CCA etc., but will be entitled for leaves as per the project guidelines with no encashment of leave applicable.

The candidate selected for the Project Assistant position will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assisting the Project In-Charge in undertaking research work.
• Conducting fieldwork.
• Performing literature review.
• Handling tabulation.
• Coordination for the academic activities.

Selection and Interview

Selection will be based on academic credentials, preference for NET/GATE qualified candidates, and an online interview. The interview will be conducted online over Google Meet on 26 October 2026. Details of the interview with Google Meet link will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates.
