Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), College of Agriculture & Research Station, Raigarh has notified 4 temporary vacancies for Guest Teacher – Agricultural Economics, Guest Teacher – Agricultural Engineering (Farm Machinery and Power), Guest Teacher – Agricultural Entomology, and Guest Teacher – Agricultural Statistics and Social Science posts. Candidates can apply by post or by hand to the Office of the Dean, College of Agriculture & Research Station Raigarh, with the last date for submission of bio-data up to 5:00 PM on 2 November 2026. Applicants must hold a Master degree in relevant subject of Agriculture faculty with at least 55% marks along with compulsory NET unless exempted as per Ph.D. conditions. The pay is Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,800 per day, and the selection process consists of an interview on 4 November 2026 at 11:00 AM onwards.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

The eligibility and remuneration terms applicable across all posts include:

• Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in the relevant subject of Agriculture/Agricultural Engineering faculty with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade of 6.50 on a 10.00 point scale) with a good academic record.
• NET Requirement: Qualified in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ICAR or UGC, along with one publication in a NAAS-rated refereed journal.
• NET Exemption: NET is waived off for candidates holding a Ph.D. degree completed with coursework as prescribed by UGC Regulations 2009, provided the candidate has at least two full-length publications with a NAAS rating of not less than 4 on the last date of application submission. A Ph.D. degree obtained without coursework does not qualify for NET exemption.
• Basic Science and Engineering: Qualifications prescribed by UGC apply to Basic Science, and qualifications prescribed by AICTE apply to Basic Engineering/Technology subjects.
• Contingency Provision: Under special circumstances, if candidates meeting the above qualifications are unavailable, candidates holding a Master’s degree in the relevant subject may be engaged on a per-period basis for a period of one year.
• Remuneration / Honorarium:
  • Ph.D. and NET qualified in the relevant subject: Rs. 1,800 per working day (maximum Rs. 40,000 per month).
  • Ph.D. qualified in the relevant subject: Rs. 1,800 per working day (maximum Rs. 40,000 per month).
  • Master’s degree and NET passed in the relevant subject: Rs. 1,500 per working day (maximum Rs. 36,000 per month).
  • Only Master’s degree in the relevant subject: Rs. 1,200 per working day (maximum Rs. 26,000 per month).
  • No allowances of any other kind are admissible to guest teachers.
• Age Limit: Maximum age 40 years. An age relaxation of 5 years is admissible for SC, ST, OBC, and female candidates as per Chhattisgarh State Government rules, subject to an overall upper age limit of 45 years. Any future revision in the upper age limit by the State Government will apply accordingly.

The duties and responsibilities assigned to Guest Teachers comprise:

• Teaching duties in the concerned subject.
• Participation in college research, extension, and development activities.
• Office administration and examination-related work.
• Cultural and sports activities of the college.
• Any other duties assigned by the Dean or college authorities.

Selection will be made on the basis of merit, scorecard, and a Walk-in Interview evaluated alongside academic performance, research publications, and relevant experience.

• The engagement is purely temporary on a per-day honorarium basis for one semester (First Semester 2026-27) or one academic year, or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.
• Under no circumstances will temporary guest faculty services be extended beyond two years.
• Selected candidates have no right to claim regular appointment or regularisation in Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya.
• Previously engaged guest teachers are also eligible to apply, but they will not be given any preference or priority, and selection will be made strictly on merit and scorecard.
• If performance is found unsatisfactory, services may be withdrawn without prior notice or terminated with one week’s notice.
• Prior to joining, selected candidates must submit an affidavit/undertaking on a Rs. 50 stamp paper duly attested by a notary.
• Part-time guest teachers are not entitled to any leave.
• Reservation rules of the Chhattisgarh State Government apply at the college level.
